    * Improv games are short comedic stage scenes made up on the spot with audience suggestions and no rehearsal. The hit TV show, "Whose Line is it Anyway?" is one example of an improv show.
    Although we play some similar improv games, we lay no claim to Drew Carey's show as the games are public domain.

    Level 1 - Introduction to Improv
    $100 for 6-weeks' session prepaid ( or $20 per class)

    Classes start Sept. 8, 2005, Thursdays 7-9pm

    Prerequisite: none

    This six-week adventure will introduce you to the exciting world of creating theatre on the spot. Get the tools you will need to become a successful improviser as well as successful, rounded-out person. Students will utilize exercises and theatre games to build their improvisational muscles. In the last day of class, students will show off their new skills in front of family and friends.


    Level 2 - Introduction to Longform
    $100 for 6-weeks' session prepaid ( or $20 per class)

    Classes start Sept. 8, 2005, Thursdays 7-9pm

    Prerequisite: Level 1 or instructor's approval

    This session will build on the lessons learned in Level 1 and teach you how to improvise a 30-minute play based on one audience suggestion. Basics of the deconstruction, the Harold, and The Young Urban Comedians' Club's signature longform, The Big Texan, will be taught along with the concepts of ensemble, scene work, and character work. Students will have an opportunity to perform in front of family and friends on the last class day.



    Our instructors were trained in Chicago at prestigious training centers such as ImprovOlympic, The Second City and ComedySportz. We've brought back the basic recipe for great improv, but we know Texans aren't satisfied with the ordinary. So, we've added some chili powder, jalepeños, a dash of cayenne, and a few secret ingredients to make a flavor of improv that can only be called...
